This Is Us a personal collection
I use Instagram for regular posts on social media. You can follow me @ThatWeBelong.
They are all portraits of people who have made my life possible.
Each portrait is titled using my standard format. You can learn more about how I title the work on the ‘story of hands’ page.

This Is Us our online gallery
‘That We Belong’ is being developed to house an online gallery of people who make our lives possible.
This global gallery will include hand portraits of loved ones, companions and other people in our lives.
It will be possible to submit photographs as well as search for and display collections – including our ‘mothers’, ‘friends’, ‘artists’, ‘teachers’ and more.
Lifelines: Edinburgh
This project is being designed to visualise and celebrate connections in Edinburgh, the city where I live.
For three weeks I will gather portraits of friends, visitors and companions through a mixture of incidental, seemingly random moments and planned meet ups.
Everyone photographed will be invited to a shared meal taking place in the exhibition venue.
